Our Rye Whiskey is double distilled “on the grain” in our alembic Charentais pot still in order to enhance its flavor and proof. We then age it for at least four years in new charred American oak barrels and then finish it for several additional months in premium used Portuguese Port barrels. The nose and taste of our Rye Whiskey reflects the terroir and spice of our homegrown rye, the multiple flavors from our charred oak barrels and the rich smoothness of our Port barrels. Shady Knoll Rye Whiskey was named "Best American Rye Whiskey" and won "Double Gold" and "Best in Class" Medals at the ADI 2024 International Spirits Competition. It also won a Gold Medal at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
